Kimberly K. “Kim” Kosmicki, 67, of St. Paul, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Rev. Vince Parsons will celebrate the Mass, assisted by Deacon Phil Lukasiewicz. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with a 7:00 p.m. parish rosary.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Kim was born April 15, 1959, in Grand Island, the daughter of James “Jim” and Sondra “Sonny” (Lucht) Nelson. She grew up in various communities while her father worked in road construction. In the early 1960s, the family returned to St. Paul and lived on an acreage south of town. She first attended Country School District #15 (Bunker Hill) before later attending St. Paul Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1977.

Following graduation, Kim worked for her aunt and uncle on their dairy farm near St. Libory, as well as serving as a baggage security at the Grand Island Regional Airport.

Kim then began working at Jack & Jill Grocery Store, later known as Hometown Market, where she served as a clerk and bookkeeper for 47 years. She was a dedicated employee who did every job there was to do around the store and became a staple of the business. Kim continued working there for the remainder of her life.

Kim was united in marriage to Terry Kosmicki on June 5, 1982, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The couple was blessed with three children: Krystal, Ashley, and Clark.

Kim was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed many hobbies and activities, including hitting the slots at the casinos, attending races at Fonner Park, bowling, selling Avon, making chicken and noodles on Sundays, and supporting her grandchildren at their activities. She loved going on adventures with her children, visiting greenhouses, attending concerts, making crafts, creating wreaths, caring for baby calves, and feeding her baby deer.

Kim was the glue that held her family together. She was the peacekeeper and always made sure everyone had what they needed. Her family was the center of her life, and she was always there for them.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Kosmicki of St. Paul; children and spouses, Krystal and Danny Barg, Ashley and Mike Lynch, and Clark and Tara Kosmicki, all of St. Paul; eight grandchildren, J.T., Jordan, Kinzley, Carter, Blake, Lacey, Morgan, and Emily; sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Russell Sutherland of St. Paul; nephew, Rilye and Tatum Sutherland, and their son, Roen; sisters-in-law, Sandy Kosmicki and Cecelia Smydra; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Melvin and Janet Kosmicki, Rich and Marlene Kosmicki, Randy and Cheryl Kosmicki, Tim and Bonnie Kosmicki, and Kenny Kosmicki; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” and Sondra “Sonny” Nelson; grandparents, Buck and Blondie Lucht, Victor and Mary Kosmicki and Ellis and Florence Nelson; and brothers-in-law, Ernie Kosmicki and Don Smydra.
