He attended St. Paul Public Schools and graduated from St. Paul High School in 2011. He then attended Doane University in Crete where he received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 2015, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While attending Doane he met the love of his life, Mollie. He returned to farm with his parents and brother, Reed.

Ty was a perfectionist and absolutely loved farming. He wanted to continue to grow the family farm and strived to upgrade the operations into the 21st century. He also loved flying drones and was very tech savvy. He could fix and solve any technological problem. Ty also inherited his love for airboating from his father. Ty never met a stranger, was known to be ornery and was always quick with a joke.
