Teresa J. "Teri" Ward

Teresa J. “Teri” Ward, 70, of St. Paul, died Friday, May 20, 2022, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

Memorial services are pending for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family request that everyone enjoy a mimosa and take a nap!

Teri was born Aug. 13, 1951, at Boston, MA, the daughter of Arthur E. and Catherine A. (Hutchins) Wills. She grew up in Buzzards Bay, MA and graduated from Bourne High School in 1969. After graduation she worked in life insurance and was always proud that she worked in the John Hancock building in Boston.

She was united in marriage to Leonard N. Ward on Sept. 18, 1971, at Buzzards Bay, MA. The couple first lived in Newport, RI, until Leonard was discharged from the Navy. They later moved to Nebraska and settled in St. Paul, where they raised their four children. Teri worked for the St. Paul Senior Center for a number of years and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was also actively involved in 4-H for many years and in 2012, received the Friend of 4-H award.

Teri was an avid reader and enjoyed a good mimosa, followed by a nap. She loved time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Katie and Scott Kowalski of St. Paul, Patti Ward of St. Paul, Adam and Shannon Ward of Crete and Tim Ward of Kearney; seven grandchildren, Kris and Amber, Trevor, Kyle and Leiah, Beau and Heather, Tyler, Ranae, and James; six great-grandchildren, Zane, Cailynne, Jesse, Rex, Adilee, and Everett; sister, Marcy Wills of Buzzards Bay, MA; and brother, Steve Wills of Buzzards Bay, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Leonard on Sept. 25, 2019.
