After the school closed Susan attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School and graduated from Bloomfield Community High School in 1969. These schools were the same schools her mother attended. Susan loved music and participated in choir throughout high school. At age sixteen, she began working at Osmond General Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She worked for a few years at one of the general hospitals, as well as the V.A. Hospital. She worked for various physicians, and She completed her career while collaborating with physicians in a clinical setting where she treated several patients each day. She always said that “If you really listen to the patient, you will most likely identify approximately 90% of health issues.”

Susan loved growing up on the farm and she loved the animals. She had a dog named Rusty and they were good buddies. She also helped with the chicken chores. While she was not a ‘dog person,’ she loved her cats so much. Susan would spend many holidays with family at the farm. She was a particularly good cook/baker.
