Myra K. Vogt, 61, of Elba, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul. Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas Clark will officiate. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Vogt was born on Aug. 24, 1953, on a farm 2 miles east of Cairo, the daughter of Dean C. and Blanche (Gascho) Veeder. She is survived by her husband, Gerald D. Vogt of Elba; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robbie Shepard of Beatrice and Dewayne and Maria Shepard of Greeley; two daughters, Leah Shepard and Tonia Axmann, both of Grand Island; and one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Peggy Veeder of Cairo. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Myra grew up and received her education at country schools in the Cairo area and attended Centura High School. She was united in marriage to Gerald D. Vogt in St. Paul. The couple lived on a farm west of Wolbach, later moving into Wolbach. For the past 18 years they have lived in Elba. Myra enjoyed her dog, “Buster Buddy”. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, John Sims; and three brothers, Dale, Clyde and Wayne Veeder. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family.
