Margaret Marie “Marge” Wozniak, 100, of St. Paul, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Vince Parsons, and assisted by Deacon Neil Baquet. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be held 1 hour before time of the service at the church and the Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
Marge was born Nov. 3, 1923, on the family farm south of Farwell to Joseph and Stella (Tyma) Kezeor. She attended St. Anthony’s parochial school in Farwell and Farwell High School and farmed with her family and also cleaned homes in Grand Island.
She was united in marriage to Synfred J. “Fred” Wozniak on May 4, 1948, in Farwell. The couple first lived in St. Paul, eventually moving to Boelus where they farmed. They later returned to St. Paul and Marge worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunitions Plant working with land mines. She later started cooking at Nesiba’s Café in St. Paul, a job she held for 20 years. In the 1980’s, she began working for the Keller family for a number of years.
Last November she celebrated her 100th birthday with many family and friends. It was a very proud day for her and a day that she thoroughly enjoyed.
Marge was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Mike Kreis of Doniphan and Annette and Roger Ogard of St. Paul; daughter-in-law, Lori Wozniak of St. Paul; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Wozniak of April 10, 2014; son, Kenny Wozniak of June 3, 2014; grandson, Johan Dugan Wozniak; sisters, Prudence Gorecki, Marcella Gorecki, Josephine Weverka, Patricia Neuhalfen, and 2 infant sisters; brothers, Isadore Kezeor, Alfonse Kezeor, Ralph Kezeor, Paul Kezeor, Clem Kezeor, Bernard Kezeor, and 2 infant brothers.
