Lynnze was born on April 16, 1984, at Fullerton, the daughter of Charles J. and Teresa J. (Valasek) Martinsen. She grew up in St. Paul where she graduated from St. Paul High School in 2002. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Hastings College in 2006. Lynnze was a member of the Lady Broncos National Champion Basketball team. The team was inducted into Hastings College Hall of Fame and she was also individually inducted in 2015.

Her career spanned different titles with one common thread. Empowering others. Her strong love for her grandparents paved the road for her career with Nye Retirement Communities, which led her to Jackson, Wyoming. This was ideal for her, nourishing her love for the mountains, exploring outdoors and connecting her spirit with the moon and stars.

Lynnze painted a masterpiece of life by combining the things she held closest to her heart; nature and friendship. Her work of art was admired not only by family and friends, but any living thing that was graced by her presence. If you had the honor of meeting Lynnze you knew the depth of her soul and the brightness of her spirit. She was known for her infectious laugh, her ability to ease others pain, and her relentless pursuit for empowering everyone she met. Lynnze brought a playful enthusiasm to everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed by her Tribe, that includes her family, Emily, Mikayla, Kristie, Tim, Brooke, Libby, John, Sammy and Neal.

She is survived by her mother, Teresa Martinsen and her husband, Andy of St. Paul; her father, Chuck Martinsen and his wife, Beth of O’Neill; brothers, Neal Martinsen and his wife, Lindsey of Hickman, Bradley Martinsen and his wife, Courtney of St. Paul and Adam Martinsen of Omaha; nieces and nephew, Aubree, Eizley, Kinzey and Brantley Martinsen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her loyal sidekick, Zaga.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nelce and Marilyn Martinsen and Mike and Delores Valasek.
