Larry M. Glause

Larry M. Glause, 79, of St. Libory, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms. The Rev. Craig K. Niemeier will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Worms. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Glause was born on Nov. 23, 1935, near St. Libory, the son of Philip William and Stella (Wagner) Glause. He was united in marriage to Myrna Kay Wright on August 9, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. He is survived by his wife, Myrna of St. Libory; two sons, Ted Glause of St. Libory and Barry Glause of Loup City; one daughter, Lana Kucera of St. Libory; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Andy and Janette Glause and Paul and Marie Glause, all of St. Libory and Jeanie Glause of Palmer; one sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Bob Rouse of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Joshua and Kalila Glause, Matthew Glause, Kayla Kucera, Kersten Kucera and Kassidy Kucera; and four great-grandchildren, Jazmyn, Justice & Judah Glause and Daevanie Obermeier. Larry grew up in the Worms community. He was baptized on Dec. 22, 1935 at Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed on April 10, 1949. He attended Zion Lutheran parochial school and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1953. He went into the U.S. Army in Nov. 1958. After training he was stationed in Grand Island, New York and lived in Niagara Falls, New York, until his discharge in Nov. 1960. He and Myrna returned to farming and living near Worms, where he operated a dairy and raised Black Angus cattle. In 1982, he began driving a bulk milk truck for Ravenna Cheese. In 1984, he worked for Paris Trucking and later for Ward Transport, until he retired. He continued to farm the home place until his health failed. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of Worms and also a member of Burton Beyer American Legion Post No. 120 of Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Verona and LeRoy Seim; brothers, Billy, Clayton, Gene and Loy Glause; sister-in-law, Janice Wieck; brother-in-law, Delmar Wright; and his in-laws, Henry and Lida Wright. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Worms.
