Janice A. Wieck, 68, of St. Libory, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms. The Rev. Craig K. Niemeier will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Worms. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wieck was born on Jan. 18, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Herman and Lois (Pickrel) Klein. She is survived by her husband, Danny Wieck of St. Libory; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tina Naputi of Winter Park, FL, Wendy and Russell Cook of Pottsboro, TX and Jennifer and Derek Ippensen of Shickley; one son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Steph Wieck of St. Libory; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lila and Leroy Studley of Wolbach and Linda and Sal Mercurio of Post Falls, ID. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jessica Naputi and fiance' Martin Lerch, Courtney Naputi, Brianna Taylor, Preston Cook, Kelsey Cook, Sophie Ippensen and Stella Ippensen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordie and Pat Wieck of Chapman, LeRoy Seim of Grand Island, Jeanie Glause of Palmer, Larry and Myrna Glause of St. Libory, Naomi and Bob Rouse of Tucson, AZ, Andy and Janette Glause of St. Libory and Paul and Marie Glause of St. Libory; and many beloved nieces and nephews. As a young girl she moved with her family to Wolbach where she grew up and attended Wolbach Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Gene N. Glause on Feb. 20, 1962, at Central City. To this union three daughters, Tina, Wendy and Jennifer, were born. The couple lived and farmed in the St. Libory area. Gene died on Feb. 9, 1976. She was united in marriage to Danny D. Wieck on Aug. 26, 1978, at Worms. To this union a son, Justin was born. The couple lived north of Worms their entire married life. Over the years she worked at various places including, Younkers, Tri-City Signs and Bryan Jensen Clothing. Janice was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Evening LWML. She was also a member of the St. Paul Cancer Support Group. Janice loved reading, playing cards, Hallmark movies and cooking, of which her family loved her chicken noodle soup. She also dearly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending whatever they were involved in. In addition to her husband, Gene, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lois Klein; in-laws, William and Stella Glause and Oscar and Marie Wieck; one sister-in-law, Verona Seim; and one brother-in-law, Loy Glause. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church.
