James J. Reimers, 27, of St. Paul, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. James was born on Sept. 30, 1991, at Grand Island, the son of Carolyn K. Reimers and Daniel R. Luciano. James grew up in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public School. In 2009, he graduated from Penn Foster High School and had also taken classes through Penn Foster College. He volunteered at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island, the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Grand Island and for Head Start. His son, “JoJo” was his whole world. He loved watching his son play flag football and loved being around all children. He also loved his dog, Shadow. James was a very kind and caring person. He is survived by his son, Joseph “JoJo” Reimers of St. Paul, his parents, Carolyn Reimers and Daniel Luciano of St. Paul; his grandmother, Carol Reimers of St. Paul; as well as, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Robert Reimers; grandparents, Robert Reimers and Abelino and Juana Rivas; a special great aunt, Inez Hancock; and special great uncles, John Reimers and Louis Luciano. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family.

I remember one time when the kids thought they were brave and we dropped the kids off in your driveway and had them run up to your house on the dark. It was during this month.

I have known James since he was a young kid. He is my best friend and half my life. Memories flood me and as I sit here thinking trying to figure out which memory to share with u. James was there for me at all my big life events. He was my biggest fan and he was my white knight always saving me from myself and others. I decided the only memory I'm willing to share is the wedding we went to together he kept stealing my drinks... he had bought me the most beautiful dress and we had a blast dancing. He always made me feel loved even when I didn't deserve it. Caroline Dan thank u for sharing ur amazing son with me thank u for raising such a great man I loved him and I love you. Rip James I miss u so very much

I remember playing Yugioh cards with him as a kid and wrestling/playing outside with him during recess.

Oh James... my heart hurts but I can only smile when I think of all the good memories! When you told us you were going to be a dad you were so excited and when we came to see JoJo in the hospital you couldnt wait to show him off! When I would cut your hair you ALWAYS made sure you tipped me way to much!!! Haha You will be missed by so many, James!! Give grandpa hugs for me and keep a close watch on all of us!! Love and miss ya Buddy! Brooke
