James Lewis “Jim” Foster, 90 of St. Paul, formerly of Ericson, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul, NE

Jim chose cremation with inurnment to be held in the Pibel Lake Cemetery near Ericson at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting Jim's family with the arrangements.

Jim was born near Ericson, NE of Oct. 17, 1935, the son of Lewis "Mike" and Blanche (Kasselder) Foster. He grew up in the area and graduated from Ericson rural high school in 1954.

Jim worked as a long-haul truck driver out of Grand Island, earning numerous safety award and traveling many miles.

Jim enjoyed listening to country music, watching sports and spending time with family and friends. He liked to share jokes and never forgot a punchline. His sense of humor and storytelling will be missed.

He is survived by nieces, Cindy (Wietzki) Cassell and Shelly Lindsey; great nephew, Simon Cassell of Lincoln; and great nieces, Sara Mullen of Cincinnati, Crystal Ahlman of Lincoln and Angela Cassell of York; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrell Foster; and sister, Lill Wietzki; brother-in-law, Ed Wietzki; and nephews, Gary Wietzki and Mike Wietzki.
