Geri was born on Nov. 4, 1937, at Ashton, the daughter of Roman and Theresa (Jolkowski) Kwiatkowski. She attended Sherman County rural schools and then Loup City High School. While in high school, she worked at the Rexall Drug Soda Shop. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1955.

After graduation, she moved with several of her classmates to Omaha, where she worked for Mutual of Omaha. She later returned to Loup City and began working at the Sherman County Bank as a teller and bookkeeper.

She married Jim John on June 6, 1959, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Paplin. He passed away suddenly on July 24, 1962.

She was united in marriage to Carl S. Krolikowski on Aug. 8, 1964, at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. The couple raised their family and lived their entire married lives in Loup City. In 1965, the couple purchased Ray’s Market, which they owned and operated until 1994, when they sold the store and Carl retired.

Geri worked at the Sherman County Treasurer’s Office for many years and served as the Sherman County Treasurer from 1998 to 2011. Carl died on Oct. 21, 2018, and Geri lived the rest of her life in Loup City.

She was an active member of St. Josaphat’s Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and took communion to the homebound and residents of Rose Lane Home in Loup City. She also helped count money, assisted with many funeral meals through the Council of Catholic Women, and did laundry for the church. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Pink Sisters through the church, was a lifetime member of the Rosary Sodality, PEO Chapter AQ of Loup City for over 50 years, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 48 of Loup City for 53 years. She served on the Housing Authority board for a number of years and was a member of the Sherman County Historical Society. She enjoyed bowling on ladies' league and playing golf on ladies' league and in ladies' and couples' golf tournaments in the area. She loved praying the rosary, ironing, and spending time with her family.
