Caren S. Wampler

Caren S. Wampler, 57, of St. Paul, died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at her home. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. Pastor Dave Scrabeck will officiate. Caren chose to have her body cremated, with a family inurnment at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, Iowa, at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Miss Wampler was born on June 8, 1956, at Fairfax, Missouri, the daughter of Owen and Patricia (Smith) Wampler. She is survived by her parents, Owen and Patricia Wampler of St. Paul; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Kenneth and Jonica Wampler of Palmer and Carl Wampler of Aurora, CO; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Patricia Ann and Troy Gregg, Barbara Wampler and Lynnette and Randy Kent, all of Grand Island, and Dorothy and Raymond Gregg of Scotia. She also leaves to cherish her memory nine nieces and nephews, Eve and Jeremy Essary, Jon Wampler and Macy Perry, Tara and Ryan Bailey, Megan Gregg, Arthur Wentz, Brian and Stacy Wentz, Travis and Brittany Gregg, Trevor Gregg, Trenton Gregg, and many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews. As a young girl Caren lived with her family in Riverton, Iowa, later moving to the communities of Nebraska City, Nehawka and Stockham, where she attended schools in each community. In the Fall of 1970, the family moved to a farm near Cushing. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1974. After graduation, she began working for McCain Foods in Grand Island, where she was a faithful employee until the time of her death. Caren loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her all day Saturday shopping trips where she loved to buy things for all her family, as well as, Saturday night supper. Caren was very generous person with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the family's choice.
