Adine was born on Dec. 5, 1942, at St. Paul, the daughter of William P. and Joanna (Skorniak) Johansen. She grew up on a farm northwest of Farwell and attended country school in the area. She later attended Grand Island Central Catholic, where she graduated in 1960.

She was united in marriage to Jim Wardyn on Sept. 2, 1961, at Paplin. Two sons, John and Jeff were born to this union. The couple later divorced.

Adine worked for a number of years at Sperry New Holland in Grand Island, later moving to Omaha where she worked in financial planning and services. In the early 2000’s she moved to Billings, MT where she did volunteer work with the handicapped, mentally challenged and the elderly. In 2012, she returned to Omaha and later to Grand Island. Due to health reasons, she lived with her son and daughter-in-law at Palmer until 2017, when she moved to Rose Lane Home, where she lived the rest of her life.

Adine loved reading and flower gardening.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Vickie Wardyn of Palmer and Jeff and Brenda Wardyn of Weeping Water; seven grandchildren, Justin and Nora Wardyn of Columbus, Chelsie and Jordan Watson of Phillips, Jack and Mary Ellen Wardyn of Kearney, Ben, Beau, Luke and Jacob; and ten great-grandchildren, Marie, Mildred and Joseph Wardyn, Ryker and Finley Watson, Rylie Wardyn, and Gypsy, Oliver, Sawyer and Arden; and sister and brother-in-law, Ardie and Tom Kaiser of Farwell.
