Steven T. Jorgensen, 51, of Columbus, formerly of St. Paul, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home in Columbus. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. A time to greet the family will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the church, with a 5 p.m. vigil service. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Jorgensen was born on Feb. 10, 1962, at St. Paul, the son of Eugene and Carolyn (Buettner) Jorgensen. He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Carolyn Jorgensen of St. Paul; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mark and Karen Jorgensen of Johnston, Iowa, Brad Jorgensen of Longmont, CO and Chris and Theresa Jorgensen of Parker, CO; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Doug Novak of Carlsbad, CA, Lisa and Randy Jerabek of St. Paul and Melissa and Dean Trampe of Amherst; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve grew up in St. Paul, where he attended Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1980. After high school he moved to Omaha where he worked for Vickers Industries for 17 years. He then attended Vatterott College in Omaha where he studied Heating & Air Conditioning. In 2005, he moved to Columbus where he worked for John Crane – Orion Corporation of Nebraska as a machinist for the past 8 years. Steven was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and his beloved pet dogs and birds. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Margaret Jorgensen and Raymond and Elenore Buettner. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter & Paul New Parish Hall Fund.
