Eric J. Moheng

ST. PAUL – Eric J. Moheng, 34, of St. Paul died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Tim Rust will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. There will be no visitation. Mr. Moheng was cremated. Mr. Moheng was born on July 23, 1973, at Broken Bow, the son of Gerald D. and Virginia M. (Franssen) Moheng. He is survived by his parents of St. Paul; four brothers, David Moheng of Omaha, Herman Moheng of Omaha, Nathanael Moheng of St. Paul and Tim Moheng of Omaha; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Troy Stickels of Blue Hill and Sarah and Leland Burns of Jacksonville, North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Grace and Gavin Moheng, Isabella and Hayden Stickels and Emma Burns. Eric first lived with his family in Kearney, later moving to Gibbon and then to Norton, Kansas where he began elementary school. In 1982, the family moved to Shelton where he attended the Shannon Christian School. In 1989, he moved with his family to St. Paul where he graduated from St. Paul High School in 1992. He attended Central Community College in Hastings and worked for a number of years at the Pizza Hut in St. Paul. He also worked for Advanced Auto Part in Grand Island for awhile. Eric had been in declining health for several years. He repaired and refurbished Ludwig drums for people from all over the United States and the world. He had researched and studied the Ludwig Drum Company, having become an expert on them and had written an article that was to be published soon. Needless to say he was an avid drummer and musician. He also loved his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Mary Moheng and Herman and Marcella Franssen; and three uncles, Steven Moheng and Wayne and Dale Franssen. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
