Donald R. Koperski

Donald R. Koperski, 56, of Farwell, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery near Farwell. Visitation will Saturday one hour before time of service at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Koperski was born on Oct. 18, 1951, at Loup City, the son of Emil E. and Jeanette (Palu) Koperski. He is survived by his mother of Farwell; one brother, Terrance Koperski of Omaha; two sisters, Belinda Hassler of Farwell and Kathleen Koperski of Omaha. He is also survived by two nephews, Kelly Hassler and his wife, Tammy and Matthew Hassler, all of Grand Island; one niece, Jennifer Hassler of Farwell; three great nieces and one great nephew. Donald grew up in Farwell and as a young boy moved with his family to Omaha, where he attended St. Bridget’s Catholic School and was a 1970 graduate of Omaha South High School. He worked as an over-the-road trucker for many years. In the early 1990’s he returned to Farwell, where he lived the rest of his life. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading. Memorials are suggested to the family.
