Norman G. "Norm" Bandt

Norman G. “Norm” Bandt, 72, of Wolbach died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Boone County Health Center in Albion, with his wife at his side. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Vicar Marcia Dorn will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Bandt was born on Oct. 6, 1942, at St. Paul, the son of Percy and Mable (Smith) Bandt. He is survived by his wife Donna Bandt of Wolbach; his children, Trisha and Bob Steffenmeier of Clarkson, Lonnie Bandt of York, Genevieve Houston of Stanton, Iowa and Kenneth and Brenda Bandt of Grand Island; one brother, Raymond Bandt of Fullerton; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marilyn Prentice of Wolbach and Marjorie and Elton Teter of Amherst. He also leaves to cherish his memory 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Norm was a 1961 graduate of Wolbach High School. He was united in marriage to Pam Schlueter on Dec. 14, 1963, at Palmer. To this union, Trisha, Lonnie and William were born. The couple lived in Palmer and later divorced. He was united in marriage to Donna Hart on Aug. 19, 1978 at St. Paul. To this union Kenneth was born and Norm became a stepfather to Genevieve. The couple lived in Palmer and later moved to Cedar Rapids. He worked as a feedlot manager for the Dinsdale family for 37 years. In 2008 he and Donna moved to Wolbach. Norm was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed watching western movies and TV shows. He also loved spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Bandt; niece, Audrea Bandt; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Prentice. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
