Margaret C. "Peggy" Grudzinski

November 5, 1941 — May 18, 2014

Margaret Catherine “Peggy” Grudzinski, 72, of Troy, MI, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home, with a smile on her face. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. The Rev. Marty L. Egging will officiate. Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Grudzinski was born on Nov. 5, 1941, at Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph M. and Virginia R. (Judge) Connor. She is survived by her husband, Anthony A. “Tony” Grudzinski; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy Nicole and Sanjay Nayar; one son, Anthony D. Grudzinski; five brothers and seven sisters-in-law, Joseph and Kathy Connor, Robert and Anna Connor, William and Jud Connor, Patrick and Denita Connor, Christopher and Nancy Connor, Nee Connor and Debbie Connor; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Virginia and Ed Chumbler, Mary and Steve Belzac, Nancy and Chuck Hooper and Theresa Krueger. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Victoria and Hudson. Peggy grew up and received her education in Detroit. Her husband Anthony “Tony” Grudzinski was born and raised in Loup City. The couple met following Tony's military service, and were married on June 11, 1971 in Royal Oak, Michigan. They were blessed with two children, Amy Nicole and Anthony David. Peggy and Tony loved to travel, with favorite trips to Italy, China and Poland. Their U.S. Travel encompassed every state including Alaska and Hawaii. They also loved to dance, were avid golfers, and played in a bridge group together. Their 40-year marriage was a beautiful partnership that retained its spark. She was a stay at home mother until her children were raised and then worked for a number of years at the Meadowbrook Mansion. She is remembered for her loving kindness. She lived to love, and support other people. She is remembered as the person who never forgot a birthday. In fact, she traveled with birthday cards, specially picked out for those whose birthdays would occur during her time of travel. In the last months of her life, letters poured in detailing how profoundly she had inspired others: a neighbor boy to be a gardener, a young woman to be a good mother, a niece to be a kinder person, her daughter to handle life with grace, her son to be a good listener, and a Catholic Monsignor to help others face death. Many people, including her 9 surviving brothers and sisters, visited her in her last days with gratitude for her nurturing heart. It is said that the only measure of your words and your deeds, is the love you leave behind when you are gone. Peggy's words and deeds brought so much love into the world. Her surviving family are full of gratitude. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Daniel and John Connor. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Foundation or to the donor's choice.
