Frances A. "Fran" Buhrman

Frances A. “Fran” Buhrman, 79, of St. Paul, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at her home. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Revs. Ray Kosmicki and Rayappa Konka will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. There will be no visitation. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Buhrman was born on Feb. 18, 1936, at St. Paul, the daughter of Stanley and Belle (Roebuck) Olsufka. She was united in marriage to Leo F. Buhrman on Aug. 10, 1955, at St. Paul. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2012. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Doug and Savannaha Buhrman of Lincoln, Greg Buhrman of Grand Island, Pat and Judi Buhrman and Bryan and Cheryl Buhrman, all of Chandler, AZ; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tracy and John Middleton of Hastings, Amy and Cary Tietjen of Chester and Jeanne Kenney of Grand Island; two sisters, Betty Noller of Salina, KS and Loretta Rudolf of Hastings; and one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dianne Olsfufka of New Carrollton, NJ. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Fran grew up in St. Paul, where she received her education and graduated from St. Paul High School. After she and Leo were married, they lived in St. Paul where they raised their seven children. Fran worked as a secretary to the Principal and Guidance Counselor at St. Paul Public School, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She was a past member of Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Paul Fireman's Auxiliary. She was a strong supporter of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. She enjoyed reading and refinishing antique furniture. In addition to her husband, Leo, she was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Belle; three brothers, Raymond, Leonard and Clifford Olsufka; and three sisters, Delores Wojtalewicz, Ellen Zalewski and Rose Marie Brown. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
