Edna L. Kuck, 96, of Grand Island, formerly of St. Libory, was called home to the Lord, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Riverside Lodge Retirement Community in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms. The Rev. Craig K. Niemeier will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Worms. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Kuck was born on Sept. 14, 1920, at St. Libory, the daughter of Fred N. and Emma K. (Luebbe) Peters. She was baptized on Oct 10, 1920 and confirmed on May 13, 1934. Edna grew up on the family farm, the youngest of ten children, and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School in Worms. She was united in marriage to Eric E. Kuck on Aug. 13, 1939, by Rev. Wm. H. Meyer, at Zion. The couple enjoyed 66 years of marriage. They were lifelong members of Zion and the Worms community, until she and Eric moved to Grand Island in 1989 and then to Riverside Lodge in 2002. Edna was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and helping Eric with their dairy farm. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was an active member of Dorcas Ladies Aid, the Altar Guild and church choir. She was also a member of the Platt-Duetsche of Grand Island. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Bill Seim of Omaha and Sandra and Dick Vaughn of Mission, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Chris Kuck of St. Libory; sister-in-law, Rose Kuck of Grand Island; many dear nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Candy Stewart of Grand Island. She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren and spouses, Douglas and Kathleen Hokemeir-Seim of Edina, MN, Stacey Penrod and fiancé, Kenny Smutz of Omaha, Steven and Sandra Seim of Omaha, Amy and Ray McCoy of Riverton, WY, Thomas and Emmy Nielsen of Rock Springs, WY, James and Katie Kuck of St. Libory and Jonathan and Amber Kuck of St. Libory; 14 great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Eric, who died on Sept. 14, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Henry, Herman, William, Walter and Edward Peters; and four sisters, Mamie Scheer, Meta Schmidt, Frieda Bader and Alma Dammann.
