After he and Ginny married they first lived in Loup City and later in Grand Island where he worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunitions Plant. He then worked for Great Lakes Consolidated Concrete until retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Libory's Catholic Church and the Platt-Duetsche and American Legion and VFW of Grand Island. Dave enjoyed carpentry, mechanics, riding his Harley and was meticulous about his lawn and yardwork. He dearly loved his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their sports, school activities and telling them stories. He was a great “Papa”. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dawayne and Dwight Bartunek. Memorials are suggested to the St. Libory's Catholic Church Wheelchair Ramp Fund.
