Anthony J. "A.J." Sabin, Jr.

Anthony J. “A.J.” Sabin, Jr., 22, of Lincoln, formerly of St. Libory, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident, near St. Libory.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Libory's Catholic Church in St. Libory. The Rev. Sidney B. Bruggeman will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with graveside military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the U.S. Marine Corps Honors Team.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Sabin was born on March 4, 1990, at Grand Island, the son of Anthony J. “Tony” and Kristi K. (Tyma) Sabin, Sr.

He was united in marriage to Christina A. Headrick on July 3, 2010, at St. Libory.

He is survived by his wife, Christina A. Sabin of Lincoln; his parents, Tony & Kristi Sabin of St. Libory; a brother, Dakota Sabin of St. Libory; a sister, Lizzie Sabin of St. Libory; his grandparents, Mick & Carolyn Tyma of St. Libory; his great-grandmother, Mandeline Simonson of St. Libory; an uncle, Doug Tyma of St. Libory; in-laws, Mark & Sandra Headrick of Lincoln; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brandon & Tina Headrick of St. Paul; and one nephew, Braxton Headrick of St. Paul.

A.J. grew up in St. Libory and attended District 118 School until the fourth grade and then attended St. Paul Public Schools, where he graduated from St. Paul High School in 2008.

Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served all four years at Camp Pendleton, California. He also served on several tours in Japan and Thailand.

In June 2012, when he was discharged, the couple moved to Lincoln. He recently attended ATS Heavy Equipment Operating School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and began working for Dietzel, Inc. of Omaha.

He was a lifelong member of St. Libory's Catholic Church, where he received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Marriage.

A.J. enjoyed all extreme sports, including four wheeling, motorcycles, dirt bikes and boating. He never could sit still! He loved getting new tattoos and spending time with his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Lance Cpl. David Tyma, Sr.; and his great-grandparents, Oliver Simonson and Ralph and Bertha Tyma.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
