Mardell Marie Ludemann

Mardell M. Ludemann, 73, of St. Paul died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Revs. Mike McDermott and Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Mrs. Ludemann was born on Aug. 26, 1938, at Stuart, NE, the daughter of William and Ida (Blum) Maertin.

She was united in marriage to Marlyn John Ludemann on Feb. 25, 1957, at Herrick, South Dakota.

She is survived by her husband, Marlyn John Ludemann of St. Paul; two daughters, Susan and John Moore and Laurie and Wayne Gress, all of Grand Island; two sons, Cullen Ludemann and Robyn Scharvin and her daughter, Sydney of Oxford and Cory and Trish Ludemann of Hastings.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Rachel Moore, Matthew Gress, Meagan Gress, John Ludemann and Kate Ludemann.

Mardell received her education at Naper Public Schools and graduated from Naper High School in 1956. She then attended Norfolk Community College.

After she and John married they first lived in Long Beach, CA before returning to Nebraska and living in Ainsworth and later moving to St. Paul, where they lived the rest of their married life.

Mardell was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and would schedule her day around the Cubs and their games.

She was a homemaker most of her life. She was an awesome cook who loved to entertain for her family and friends. She made every holiday special for her children and grandchildren. She dearly loved her family and they loved her.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
